Fly Tying Course

Our Beginner's Fly Tying Classes are held during the months of January and February. They are currently held in the cafeteria of the Northampton Area Middle School. For eight consecutive Saturday mornings we instruct on the tying of two different flies each week. Materials and an 108 page Manual are given to each student. A step by step video presentation on the tying of each fly is presented before the students start tying. Loaner tool kits are available or bring your own. We have had anywhere from 30 to 70 students of all ages. The sessions are also incorpoated into our TU Service Partnership program. With the instructions received a student should be able to tie almost any fly.

Coffee, tea, hot chocolate and donuts are available . A raffle is held each week. Tying materials, fly fishing rod and reel, tying tools and books are some of the items available. Proceeds benefit our stream restoration projects.
